Corporate Advisory Transactions

Selected examples of our advisory experience include:

• Providing strategic advice to Skywest Airlines Ltd on a number of matters, including:
  • The listing of Skywest Airlines Ltd on the ASX in 2009
  • The negotiation and implementation of an Australian Regional Airline Network alliance between Skywest and Virgin Australia under which it is expected that up to 18 new aircraft will be acquired for operation in Australia by Skywest on behalf of Virgin Australia
• Advising the Centre for Eye Research Australia Limited (CERA) on the collaborative joint venture that it established to conduct further research into retinal vascular imaging, including the translation of findings for potential clinical use. RetVIC will be partially funded by the Department of Innovation, Industry and Regional Development. Herbert Geer was also the principal advisor to the CERA on its involvement in Vision CRC, Australia’s largest Collaborative Research Centre. Vision CRC was created to establish Australia as a world leader in research, education and delivery of vision correction, to improve international eye care and to maximise commercial opportunities for Vision CRC, Australia and the eye care industry
• Providing a wide range of project and advisory work to one of Australia’s largest music touring and staging companies. Herbert Geer’s work has involved providing advice in respect of major music tours and other entertainment projects
• Advising diversified industrial company, Ludowici Limited, and the automotive retail group AP Eagers Limited on capital raisings via private placements
• Advising AP Eagers Limited on an on-market buy back
• Advising various resources companies on capital raisings, including advising Kentor Gold Ltd on a 3 for 5 rights issue combined with a private placement to professional investors raising a total of $65 million and a 2 for 7 rights issue combined with a private placement to professional investors raising a total of $8 million, advising Navarre Minerals Limited on a fully underwritten 1 for 3 non-renounceable entitlement offer and advising Uranex NL with respect to an underwritten, non-renounceable 1 for 3 rights issue
• Advising Museum Victoria in respect of its arrangements to have ‘King Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs’ and ‘Titanic - The Artefacts Exhibition’ exhibited at the Melbourne Museum
