Herbert Geer plays an active role in the legal and wider community. As a firm, we are committed to making a positive difference by providing pro bono services, and promoting and supporting community organisations and fundraising activities. We also encourage and support our staff to contribute their time, expertise and energy in support of a number of important causes.

Pro Bono

The term “pro bono” (‘for the public good’) involves work undertaken by law firms and lawyers in providing assistance to those who need legal representation but who cannot obtain representation because they cannot afford it and would thereby suffer an injustice. This advice typically extends not only to individuals but also charitable and other non-profit organisations. Herbert Geer encourages legal staff and support staff to contribute to others in the community through the firm’s pro bono work. The efforts of the staff who participate in a variety of ways, both during office hours and afterwards is recognised within the firm.
