Alex is a partner in Herbert Geer’s Projects and Construction Group. He has particular expertise in dispute resolution in the construction, engineering, resources and infrastructure project sectors which he has gained from working in Australia, the UK and Middle East.
Areas of expertise:
- Dispute avoidance in all stages of project delivery
- Major construction and commercial litigation including court, adjudication and alternative dispute resolution
- Preparation of tender and contract procurement
- Joint venture, partnering and management agreements
Alex has advised clients in contentious and non-contentious matters for a variety of projects; including airports, the Sydney and London Olympic sporting facilities, defence, hotels, high rise commercial and residential, educational facilities, mining, hydro-electric, chemical and industrial, water treatment, light rail, ship building, maritime transport, roads and bridges. He also has a particular expertise in relation to all aspects of the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act.
Alex’s clients include government, statutory corporations, principals, contractors, subcontractors, consultants and suppliers.
Alex has been a regular contributor to the Building and Construction Law Journal and also conducts in-house training and education workshops for clients.
