Michael joined Herbert Geer in 1986 and has served as chairman of partners and of the firm’s previous management committee.  He leads Herbert Geer’s Workplace Services team, which acts for the Victorian WorkCover Authority and a large number of corporations that are self-insured under the Victorian and federal compensation schemes.

A former diving instructor, Michael has acted for members of the recreational diving industry throughout Australia and the Asia-Pacific for more than 20 years.

Michael has a passion for the outdoors and enjoys mountaineering, sea-kayaking, sailing, cave diving and free-heel skiing.  He loves the cold and has been involved in a number of polar expeditions which have involved ascents of the highest peaks in Antarctica and the Arctic, a crossing of the Greenland ice-cap and film and archaeological projects in Antarctica.
