Marina was appointed to partner in July 2005, after being with the firm for 8 years. Marina has over 10 years experience in general commercial law and is a key member of the Taxation team.
Her extensive experience enables her to provide general advice to clients over a range of matters incidental to their business operations and structures ranging from contractual matters, to intellectual property considerations, to leases and employment related issues. She also provides advice with respect to financing arrangements, business exit strategies, joint ventures and succession planning. In addition, her skills complement and are often applied in the context of restructuring work generated by our taxation lawyers.
During her time at Herbert Geer, Marina has acted on numerous major business divestments and acquisitions advising both vendors and purchasers spanning a variety of industries. Her role as project manager in such transactions has encompassed overseeing and assessing legal due diligence reviews, negotiating transaction terms, preparing relevant transaction documents and enforcing completion of transactions.
