Time Out Program
The firm runs a series of monthly seminars and events on non work related topics. These include promotion of the Bike to Work event, seminars on healthy eating, cholesterol testing and reflexology sessions.
NOTLAW Program
NOTLAW stands for New Opportunities To Learn After Work. The philosophy behind the NOTLAW program is to encourage staff to participate in activities outside work. The program supports staff to learn new skills that are completely unrelated to work.
Herbert Geer subsdises the cost of attending any approved non-work related course outside working hours.
Work/Life Balance
At Herbert Geer there is an expectation that staff will work long hours when needed to get the job done – there is no expectation for staff to work long hours just to be seen.
Pro Bono
The firm has a pro bono committee and policy and encourages staff to participate in pro bono work for organisations or individuals who are unable to access the legal system due to financial constraints.
Social Life
The Herbert Geer social committee is dedicated to organising social entertainment for partners and staff. Our regular events include end of month drinks, film nights, pub parties and
the unforgettable Christmas Party.
Herbert Geer is not a stuffy firm – we believe the informal and friendly atmosphere creates a working environment which encourages participation, hard work and fun.
Sporting Events
Partners and staff are regularly involved in sporting events sponsored by the firm and participate in the BRW Triathlon, the Corporate Cup (Dragon Boat Racing) and various fun runs throughout the year.
